this is very rough write up... i won't go into statistic POV.
Apa masalah yg mungkin timbul daripada keadaan port yang invisible (unconnectable; Port Number Reported As "---" )

1. Bagaimana nak tahu port tak connectable?
cara paling senang dan cepat ialah dengan melihat FULL LIST Seeder/Leecher utk mana-mana torrent yg. korang download/seed. tengok gambar berikut utk satu activiti torrent.

Port waiting, ramai sgt yang tanya sebab apa??ada baik korang ceck list dibawah ni[*]Korang tak buka client lagi, so site x dapat detect port korang.[*]client buka, task sedang seeding/ leeching tpi tracker offline, bleh jdi waiting jgak.[*]tracker ok, client dh on.. site ambik masa skit nk update, cuba refresh page.

2. Sebab apa port yg tak connectable is bad & the effect...
Sebab tracker detect korang berada di belakang firewall atau NATed (dlm kebanyakkan kes). INi bermakna korang tak boleh menerima incoming connection (remote iniatiated connection) dari PC user lain. (Hanya PC korang sahaja yg boleh connecting kpd PC user lain).

Bayangkan 2 peers dlm satu activiti download/upload (1 Seeder, 1 Leecher). Jika salah sorang dari peer is conenctable, then ianya OK. Tapi jika kedua-dua peer tersebut NATed, then client korang berdua tak boleh connect. Meaning, Torrent korang tak akan siap, dan seeding korang tak jalan.

utk activiti torrent di atas, swarm can be represented as the following picture (biru - peer with open port, merah - firewalled/NATed peer):

Ini bermakna, seeder yang mempunyai open port boleh upload kepada kesemua 6 leecher, tetapi unconnetable seeder hanya boleh upload kepada 2 leecher sahaja.

Dan leecher yg mempunyai open port boleh download dari 2 seeder serta boleh upload/download kpd/dari 5 leecher. tetapi leecher yg unconnetable hanya boleh download dari 1 seeder dan download/upload dari/kpd 2 leecher...

Moral of the story: jika korang tak conenctable download/upload rate korang menjadi rendah.

3. Selamat atau tidak mempunyai OPened Port
Sesungguhnya computer tak boleh dibiarkan tanpa mempunyai ciri2 keselamatan. Tapi besar bezanya antara membiarkan netBIOS port 139 terbuka dengan membuka 1 port utk tujuan tertentu. Dalam kes torrent, hardware dan software port yg diperlukan oleh client harus dibuka kecuali jika korang mahu kekal sebagai peer yg tak connectable dan mempunyai ratio yg teruk (dan seterusnya i ban).

This is an old issue.. but there are still many users with unconnectable out there.....

Don't make this happened to you.... Seed/Leech for hours and for NOTHING because of unconnectable.

As I said earlier.. if all the swarm are unconnectable, it is IMPOSSIBLE to connect to each other, no matter how long you're seeding or leeching.. as you can see in the 1st picture, seeding for almost 24 hours, but not even a BYTE uploaded............. Doggone Seeder!!!


How to do Port Forwarding.
(access ke modem/router mesti ada.. kena tahu login/pass)

Only 2 Easy Steps:

1. setup your PC with static IP Address

tengok sini macam mana nak buat IP Static

2. Buat Port Forwarding pada Modem/Router

memula pergi sini macam mana nak buat

dari page tu pilih Brand dan Model Router yg korang guna... then on next windows pilih Client apa yg korang pakai...

pada page tersebut, isikan 2 box yg perlu bg menyenangkan kerja korang:

a. Isi Client Listening Port (bergantung kepada Client apa yg korang pakai)

b. Isikan IP static yg korang set pada langkah 1 di atas

nanti kat bawah page tersebut, dia akan tunjuk apa yg korang perlu isi pada router...


Klau status connectable kat torrent No, tpi korang dah yakin portforward korang buat tu dh betul, dan memang open dh port, korang boleh check secara manual kt laman

kalau result dia [*]success - korang tak yah risau pasal port, tu memang dh diforward dgn betul, so kat site Jwg ni maybe lambat update.[*]error .... time out - client tidak di buka atau korang forward port lain, client korang guna port lain.
