Normally if you were to take a screenshot of paused video using the Windows... Want to capture your favorite moments in a video or movie, and save them as images? Normally if you were to take a screenshot of paused video using the Windows Print Screen functionality, or any other screenshot capture tool, you will have to trim the unwanted portions before you can set it as desktop background.

However there is a very quick and easy way to capture movie screenshots, using GOM Media Player. GOM is a free and versatile media player, similar to the popular VLC Media Player. Just in case you don’t have GOM player on your PC, you can download and install it from GOM website.

Play the movie or video in GOM, and when you come across the frame that you want to capture simply hit the hotkey CTRL + G. You can also right click in GOM and select Video –> Advanced Screen Capture ….

You don’t have to pause the video. GOM will automatically capture that exact frame when you hit the hotkey. Pause the video if you want to get more control on the frame(s) that you want to capture.

The ‘Advanced Screen Capture’ dialog opens. You can change the default location for captured images by clicking on ‘Change Directory’. Select the image format of the captured frame. By default it is JPG, you can also set it to BMP. In case of JPEG, you can set the quality anywhere between 1 and 255.

Capture Multiple Frames One After Other
Suppose you are not sure which of the frames would turn out to be the best after capturing them as images. In such cases, you can use GOM’s burst capture images.
Enter the number of images (1 to 999) you want to capture. Select a burst interval (between 0 and 120 seconds). Then hit ‘Burst Capture’. GOM will now put all the captured images, starting from the current frame, in the destination folder.
